Major changes coming to Secondary program in 2024

On 17 May, we held an information evening at school to share exciting news about the VCE Vocational Major and Project Ready programs, set to be offered to our Year 11 and Year 10 students respectively in 2024.

For those unable to join us on this evening, below is a broad recap:

1. The VCE Vocational Major is a brand-new two-year program exclusively available to Year 11 students in 2024. It replaces the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) and offers an enhanced curriculum designed to prepare students for further study, training at TAFE, or employment opportunities. We are delighted to announce that Cobram AGS will be offering the VCE Vocational Major in 2024, with Ms. Shea Doyle leading the way as facilitator.

2. Furthermore, we are thrilled to introduce the Project Ready program for Year 10 students, to be led by Mrs. Sharonlee Post.  Project Ready fills a crucial gap in education by focusing on developing personal skills and work etiquette, which are vital for enhancing future employment prospects. Students participating in Project Ready will engage in group projects and spend time in the community and at different workplaces to fulfill the program requirements.

3. Additionally, Mr Jon O'Dwyer shared an exciting glimpse into the early stages of planning for the Cobram AGS Sports Academy. This exciting initiative aims to provide a solid foundation for our ambitious athletes to excel in their chosen sport.

Please stay tuned via our What's On Newsletter and social media pages for further information regarding the launch and implementation of these new programs.
