Year 5/6 Camp
What a fabulous time we have had. We were on the road right on time, having our first stop just north of Seymour where we paused for a minutes silence and reflected on the significance of today National Sorry Day.
It was then full steam ahead arriving in Ballarat at 1pm for a lunch in the park before visiting the Museum of Democracy. We then headed to our accomodation before disco ten pin bowling. Wow now that was an experience and well worth watching the video footage of some of our teachers grooving, which we may use against them back in class!
We then had dinner at Barkley’s Restaurant followed by a visit from a special guest our 2020 School Captain Jesy Bright. Jesy graduated Year 12 last year and is now studying at Federation University Ballarat and spoke to the students about life in Ballarat and what it’s like to go to Uni. The students were enthralled, as she answered many of their burning questions.
The excitement has been high, with many tired heads this evening as we turn in ready for a big day tomorrow at Sovereign Hill!
Our campers just made it to Sovereign Hill before restrictions set in, after a night of ten-pin bowling action and disco dancing!
The group might not have found any gold, but from all reports they sure had lots of fun!
