Swimming Carnival delight for Stanyer House
One of the most anticipated events of every school year is undoubtedly our Year 3-12 Swimming Carnival. On 9 March students descended upon Cobram Outdoor Pool dressed in their house colours and ready for a big day of action. The weather was an absolute treat and there was a real buzz and sense of excitement amongst our student cohort. A massive thank you to our parents for coming down to the pool, our P&F Committee for supplying Zooper Doopers and of course, our awesome staff for ensuring such a great day was had by all.
At the forefront of this event was our Head of Sport, Mr Jon O’Dwyer, who once again did a brilliant job coordinating the day with the assistance of Mr Gary Smith and Mr John Thompson who was our MC. A special shout out also to Murray River Produce for donating delicious fruit for everyone to enjoy!
In a great way to finish the day, our annual teachers’ race was taken out by our new Head of Senior School, Mr John Thompson, who pipped Mr Smith to the wall in a thrilling finish. Our student body as a whole and our Year 12 students in particular deserve a great deal of credit for generating a terrific atmosphere by leading the cheering and support of all competitors. Our school values were certainly on show throughout the day. The results of the day were:
Stanyer - 672 points
Cowell - 669 points
Farrer - 580 points
Parkes - 547 points
Congratulations to Stanyer House for taking out the event in an extremely tight finish! Next up is the Cross Country event in Term Two. Bring it on.
