Supporting those doing it tough in winter
At the back end of Term Three, our Year 12 cohort braved a bitterly cold night/morning for their annual Winter Sleepout. The students slept in different spots around the School, with a handful even committing to sleeping outside to experience the real hardships faced by the homeless. We participate in the sleepout to help raise awareness of the increased stress associated with being homeless in winter, something many of us can easily take for granted in the comfort of our warm homes.
In addition to the sleepout, we held our Winter Appeal donation day in conjunction with Anglicare and the Diocese of Wangaratta. A MASSIVE thank you to our families and school community members who donated non-perishable food items and toiletries. These items were gratefully collected by Moira Foodshare, who advised the School they would help make up food/care hampers which would be spread between Foodshare’s eight distribution points across Moira Shire.
