Putting their best foot forward at Hume event

At the beginning of Term Four, seventeen secondary students travelled to Albury to compete in the Hume Region Athletics carnival. There were some terrific individual efforts by our students across different events. These included:

  • Sam Trembath (Year 8) 4th place in the male 14Yr shot put
  • James Hooper (Year 10) 4th place in the male 16Yr 800m
  • Baden Riedell (Year 9) 3rd place in the male 15Yr 800m
  • Molly Rice (Year 10) 3rd place in the female 16Yr high jump
  • Charlie Fox (Year 8) 3rd place the male 12-13Yr 100m and 2nd place in the 200m
  • Rory Campbell (Year 8) 3rd place in the male 14Yr 100m and 3rd place in the 800m
  • Riley Turra (Year 12) 3rd place in the male 18-20-Yr 100m, 3rd place in the long jump and 2nd place in the triple jump

Participants were set an extremely high bar of having to win their event to qualify for the next level of competition (State) and unfortunately a handful of our students fell agonisingly short! All 17 students should be proud of the endeavour they displayed on the day and for the way they represented Team Cobram AGS.
