NAIDOC Week

These plaques represent that we are acknowledging the traditional custodians of the land on which our school is situated.

"An Acknowledgement of Country is an opportunity for anyone to show respect for the Traditional Owners and the continuing connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to Country. It can be given by both non-Indigenous people and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people' This shows Aboriginal people that we respect them and their continuing culture at our school. It is a way of making Indigenous people feel welcomed in a school environment, as historically a school was not a welcoming place for Aboriginal people.
