GMDSSV Junior Winter Sports
On Wednesday 31 May, we had a strong contingent of students from Years 6,7 and 8 head to Shepparton for the GMDSSV Winter Sports.
The students competed in various sports including netball, soccer and clay target shooting. The collective display of talent, teamwork, and selflessness demonstrated throughout the day truly exemplified the essence of our school community. Pleasingly, we had several students from Years 11 and 12 step up to volunteer in an umpiring or coaching capacity which set a great example for our younger students and provided an extra layer of support and encouragement.
Our two soccer teams faced some extremely stern competition from the likes of Notre Dame, but still gave it their all and enjoyed the experience. Our two netball sides had a big crack and the Year 7 side managed to finish runners up in division two.
In the clay target shooting we had some standout results, in which Jack Magill and Adrian Jonker performed superbly and shot with accuracy and precision. Jack won the Year 7 boys' event, while Adrian finished in equal second place. Well done!
