Gary Smith shortlisted for prestigious award
We are delighted to share that our very own Mr Gary Smith has been shortlisted for the Secondary School Teacher of the Year (Non Government) at the upcoming Australian Education Awards! Gary was nominated by the Pang family, and his application was supported by testimonials from School Captain Cadence Pang and Gary's wife Melonie – also a secondary teacher at Cobram AGS.
This is brilliant and well-deserved recognition for Gary, who only last year helped guide Year 11 student Cody Lincoln to a perfect study score of 50 in Physics.
Gary's impact on our Physics, Mathematical Methods and Specialist Mathematics students has been profound over the years, and we are so lucky to call him a teacher of ours. Arguably Gary's greatest strength is that he teaches in a manner that caters for students of all academic abilities.
The awards ceremony will take place in Sydney on 11 August. Everybody associated with Cobram AGS congratulates Gary on this amazing achievement and we wish him all the best on the night!
