Clive makes a splash

Over the Term One holidays, one of our students made a splash on the national sporting stage! Year 10 student Clive Cromack took out the gold medal in the 14.8km mixed U16 K2 event at the Paddle Australia Canoe Marathon Championships held on the Gold Coast.

Clive partnered former Cobram AGS student Emma Corrin in the event. The pair are both members of Cobram-Barooga Canoe Club.

In addition to taking out the gold medal on a damp Gold Coast day, Clive also won silver in the men’s U16 K1 marathon (15.6km) at the Victorian Marathon Championships in Geelong (held end of May). Despite this enormous physical effort Clive wasn’t done there, jumping back in the kayak to paddle another 15.6km to take out the U16 mixed K2 event, again teaming up with Emma Corrin.

Cobram AGS congratulates Clive on these outstanding results and we look forward to seeing what he can deliver with paddle in hand moving forward.
