Cedric Pang shortlisted for literary award

Congratulations to Year 7 student Cedric Pang whose short story 'Heist' was shortlisted as a Youth Short Story Finalist at the Furphy Literary Awards.

Cedric attended the ceremony at Shepparton Library on 24 July 2022 after submitting his short story through GV Libraries. He was commended by the judges for his excellent work.

His adventurous tale features an unwell character, ruby heist, who is visited by the Grim Reaper.

Cedric is an avid reader and said he would consider writing as a potential career pathway post-school. He thanked his mum, Jacqueline, dad, Derrick, sister, Cadence, and teacher, Mrs Chris Hargreaves for assisting him with the development of Heist.

The Furphy Literary Award is inspired by Joseph Furphy, of the Furphy foundary family. Using the pseudonym “Tom Collins”, he was the author of Such is Life.
