Cadence shines bright in the community
Year 12 student and School Captain, Cadence Pang, had the honour of being announced as the Moira Shire Young Citizen of the Year during the Shire's Australia Day Awards Ceremony held at the Cobram Civic Centre over the summer holidays.
Sharing her thoughts about the achievement, Cadence expressed her surprise and gratitude for the recognition. She said, "There was definitely a bit of shock. I wasn't really expecting it honestly, but it was such an honour. I was very grateful to be the recipient of the award."
Cadence was recognised for her excellent work in the community which includes volunteering at the Irvin House aged care facility once a week, while she has also been involved with significant fundraising efforts for Cobram Fire Station and has assisted with catering and service at several school initiatives and community events such as our Open Night and the Cobram Antique Fair.
Cadence's win upholds a proud tradition of Cobram AGS students receiving this accolade. Being named the Moira Shire Young Citizen of the Year is a testament to Cadence's dedication in meeting the school's core values of Integrity, Endeavour, and Community.
Congratulations Cadence and keep up the great work!
