ANZAC Day

As part of the 2021 commemoration of Anzac Day, our school captains Emma Nolan, Liam Smith and Teagan Clarke represented Cobram AGS at the pre-ANZAC luncheon hosted by the Cobram-Barooga RSL at the Cobram Barooga Golf Club. Rob Brown OAM, President of the RSL Club, presided over the event which included a variety of ceremonial proceedings as well as a guest speaker from the RAAF.

At the Anzac Day Service, Cobram AGS was well represented by School captains Liam and Emma who along with representatives from Barooga Public School laid the wreath representing all schools in our region at the Cobram Service.

Our Junior School classes have been discussing the importance of Anzac Day, the symbolism of the poppy and the slouch hat. In Miss Willmott's 3/4 class, discussions were had around the origin of the Anzac, in particular the Gallipoli campaign, also completing some beautiful silhouette artwork.
